They are not just numbers and they will never be forgotten
A ceasefire is in place in Gaza, a ceasefire in name only.
Francesca Albanese’s view of Israel's interpretation and implementation of ceasefires in Gaza. “You cease, I fire, “
"The ceasefire risks creating a dangerous illusion that life in Gaza is returning to normal. But while Israeli authorities and forces have reduced the scale of their attacks and allowed limited amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza, the world must not be fooled. Israel’s genocide is not over." - Agnès Callamard, Secretary General of Amnesty International
The ceasefire pulls our attention away perhaps from the human stories to analysis and plans for the future. Of course that needs to be done, but millions in Gaza are still suffering - from hunger, from the lack of medical care, from the cold and wet and the grief that follows the losing of one's home and the killing of loved ones.
So today we will remember some of those who were killed, remembering that behind each horrendous statistic - over 72,000 dead, at least 350 killed since the ceasefire - each of those numbers was a child, a parent, a friend.
So we stand here with the names and faces of some of those killed - they are not just numbers and they will never be forgotten.

Lyrics:
To all the souls who can't be named
I hear your passion and feel your pain
So many people stemmed from one
Together we shall overcome
If now is already too much
Why isn't now enough?
Another win for sacrifice
Another day, another trial
I'd rather have my mother's life
Another moment left to time
If now is already too much
Why isn't now enough?
I know the roads been long
Lifted in the promise of redemption
With the spirit of my generation
I am someone
If now is already too much
Why isn't now enough?
